Domenique Azzopardi is
twelve year old. She began singing at the age of 4 and participated
and won many festivals such as: ISAC Festival, B.S. Festival, Golden
Cross International Festival 2005, TC Festival Overall Winner,
Ghaqga Talent Senglean Overall Winner, Ghaqda Kulturali Tarxien Overall Winner, Star to be 2005, Models-1
International, JA Festival overall winner 2004 and 2005, Bravi
Zeffiena Maltin and many
more.
At
the age of 6 she won the festival of B.S. Productions where from
there she went to sing in Tunes and in the last 5 years she always
won the B.S Production festival and every year she had the
opportunity to go and sing abroad thanks for Sebastian Side who
organize these festivals.
In
2004 she participated in the festival “Ghaqda l-Melodija” as a duet
with her brother and they sang the song “Spiccajt bla xoghol”
composed by Sammy Galea and written by Alfred C. Sant and this was a
great opportunity for her because she could compete with many
experienced singers. Later that year her dream came true where she
qualified for the finals of the Junior Song for Europe Festival with
the song “Talk to me” which was written and composed by her and she
ended up in the 7th Place. After the Junior Eurovision
Domenique passed as a finalist for the program Bravi and from there
she learned a lot.
In
2005 she was a finalist in the festival of Ghanja tal-Poplu with the
song “Habib Tassew” composed by Mark Debono and written by Chris
Azzopardi. In May 2005 with special thanks to Danica Muscat she was
given the song “L-art l-inhobb” composed by Anthony Buttigieg and
written by Chris Azzopardi and with this song she participated in
the festival “Ghaqda l-Melodija 2005”. Later she qualified again for
the finals of the Junior Song For Europe Festival with the song
“It`s Time To Party” which was written and composed by Domenique
herself. She began to work a lot for the finals were there Domenique achieved third
place.
In
October 2005 Domenique took part in Verdinote Battibaglia festival
in Italy where she was accompanied by a group of Maltese singers and
with her teacher Priscilla Psaila and she achieved the 2nd
place and it was a great experience for her. In December 2005
Domenique had a record to sing as a guest in many parties and even
with a great surprise she was invited to sing in front of many
people in the Malta Authority.
In
2006 Domenique took part in the “Ghanja tal-Poplu” festival with the
song “t-Tifla Minghajr Tbissima” composed by Mark Debono and written
by Chris Azzopardi and she achieve 7th place. In May 2006
she qualified as a finalist in the “Ghaqda l-Melodija” festival with
the song “Tini Jdejk” which was composed by Mark Debono and written
by Keith Zammit and from there she achieved first place and best
interpretation. Domenique passed through the elimination phase of
the junior song for europe 2006 with
the song "the key" written and composed by herself and she
came in 7th place.......
In
August Domenique and Mattei took part in a festival
named “Epoka” and they achieved 3rd place with the song “Tisimghu Tissahhar” composed by Priscilla Psaila and written by Priscilla
Psaila and Frans “il-budaj”. In September she was invited to sing in
a concert of Triston B with Georgina and the Romanian singer Mihai
who took part and got the third place in the Eurovision 2006 with
the song “Tornero”. Later in September she took part in the
program " Fil-pjazza Tar-Rahal" and she placed first out of three
hundred talents.... Later this year she`s going to begin taking
education in “Immaculated Conception Hamrun”. In October Domenique
is invited as guest in the Verdinote festival in Italy.
2007 seems to be a
successful year for domenique too... Infact she won the festival of
the Dockyard of Malta, won the GOlden cross international singing
festival and came 2nd in Ghaqda l-Melodija Festival.... From a few
days ago she began a new tv Programme which is held everyday
form 4 to 5pm...
Now she is
preparing to join the Malta Academy of Performing Arts and from
there she is looking forward to learn and gain more experience for
the future
